How to watch the Presidents Cup on Saturday
The International team got their teeth knocked in by the U.S. team on Thursday during the opening day of play in Montreal, going to sleep with fears of a lopsided loss. Not anymore.
On Friday, the Internationals staged an epic comeback, dominating the Americans — including Hideki Matusyama and Sungjae Im’s 7 and 6 thumping of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay — to tie the score heading into Saturday’s third round.
The format changes on Saturday. Instead of five matches, there will be two sessions of four matches each, which means there are eight points total up for grabs.
Players were due to go off early Saturday morning, but after the first two groups played off the 1st tee, play was suspended due to heavy fog. With the first group on the 2nd tee and the second having not yet reached their tee shots on No. 1, the PGA Tour held players in place while they awaited the resumption of play.
Groups were eventually brought in from the course, but the PGA Tour announced a resumption of play for 9 a.m. The third and fourth groups had their tee times adjusted to account for the one-hour-and-36-minute delay.
