After a lengthy regular season and two FedEx Cup Playoff events, we’ve finally reached the Tour Championship, where the top 30 PGA Tour pros will compete for a nearly unthinkable amount of money. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 FedEx Cup Playoff bonuses and payouts.
FedEx Cup money basics
Let’s start with the basics. The FedEx Cup is based on a season-long race to earn points on the PGA Tour. Following the end of the regular season, the top 10 in the FedEx Cup standings received bonuses, with Scottie Scheffler earning $8 million for ending up on top before the playoffs.
Following the regular season, the top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings advanced to the first of three FedEx Cup Playoff events, the FedEx St. Jude Championship. After that, the top 50 moved on to last week’s BMW Championship. Once the final putt dropped at the BMW, the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings qualified for this week’s Tour Championship.
It is only after the Tour Championship that the final standings are determined, and the enormous FedEx Cup bonuses paid out. This year, the Tour Championship qualifiers will be playing for more money than ever before: $100 million.
But that $100 million is not split equally among them. The winner will earn $25 million, which is $7 million more than Viktor Hovland earned for winning the 2023 FedEx Cup. Meanwhile, 30th place will receive $550,000. Below is the full list of FedEx Cup bonuses.
