The second round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs goes down this week at the 2024 BMW Championship in Colorado, and we’re putting our long-shot trust in a pro who already has won twice on the PGA Tour this season. Here’s our long-shot pick, the BMW Championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
BMW Championship odds: Long-shot bet
For the final event before the Tour Championship, we’re taking Robert MacIntyre, who comes into the week with +5500 odds to win, as our long-shot pick.
MacIntyre struggled through the early part of the year after moving to the U.S. from Scotland. But before long he turned it around in a big way, capturing his first PGA Tour title at the RBC Canadian Open followed by an emotional victory at the Genesis Scottish Open.
Last week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, MacIntyre finished T7, moving him to 12th in the FedEx Cup standings.
If you entrust $10 on MacIntyre to capture his third victory and he does it, you’ll earn $550. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on MacIntyre to finish top 10 and top 20.
Looking for more long-shot bets for the BMW Championship? This week’s honorable mentions are Cameron Young (+5000) and Denny McCarthy (+6600).
BMW Championship odds: The favorites
It’s a new playoff event this week, but with the same betting favorites at the top. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the way with +333 odds. Xander Schauffele comes in second at +550, with Rory McIlroy remaining in the third position at +1000.
