Rory McIlroy is the No. 3 seed at this week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, and he looked the part during his opening match on Wednesday in Texas.

McIlroy faced No. 52 Scott Stallings and dispatched him comfortably with a final score of 3 and 1. The win puts McIlroy on the fast track to the weekend’s knockout rounds, but he still has to keep up the solid play over the final two days of round-robin play.

On Thursday, he’ll go one-on-one against Denny McCarthy starting at 3:50 p.m. ET.
