Featured grouping for Round 1
After a brief hiatus, Rory McIlroy is back in action on the PGA Tour this week for the Wells Fargo Championship. McIlroy has won the Wells Fargo three times in his career, but this is the first time it’s a designated event, which means Rory will face off against a stellar field for a $20 million purse.
But two huge players are missing from the field list: World No. 1 Jon Rahm and No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, who are choosing to take the week off to rest.
For the opening round on Thursday, McIlroy will tee off at 7:34 a.m. ET alongside Matt Fitzpatrick and Jason Day. You can stream Thursday’s first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ beginning at 6:45 a.m. ET or watch the action on Golf Channel starting at 2 p.m. ET.
