Scottie Scheffler briefly tied Morikawa on the fifth hole when he rolled in a long eagle putt. But Morikawa made a big bird of his on the fifth and turned on the jets the rest of the day to pull away from the World No. 2.

Scheffler is tied for second, but he’ll cede his place in the final group Sunday to Matt Fitzpatrick who shot a 7 under 66 in the third round to move up four spots.

Morikawa and Fitzpatrick will go off at 3:40 p.m. ET while Scheffler will be in the penultimate grouping with J.J. Spaun, who is also tied for second at 18 under.
