The 2023 RBC Canadian Open kicks off Thursday with the first round at Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Canada. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 on TV or online.

Previewing Round 1

The headliner at this event was always going to be World No. 3 Rory McIlroy, one of golf’s biggest stars and the defending Canadian Open champion. But that’s even more true now, thanks to Tuesday’s shocking revelations about the PGA Tour-LIV merger.

McIlroy, despite being one of the Tour’s most loyal and outspoken supporters, was left out of the decision-making process entirely, and informed only just before the public heard.

Now Rory will be forced to put those thoughts aside as he tries to repeat in Canada and build some momentum for next week’s U.S. Open.

You can stream the first round of the RBC Canadian Open via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ beginning at 7 a.m. ET on Thursday, or you can watch the telecast on Golf Channel starting at 3 p.m. ET.
