The 2023 Honda Classic begins Thursday morning at PGA National Resort in Florida. You can find full Round 1 tee times for the tournament at the bottom of this post.
Featured grouping for Round 1
Many of the top-ranked players on Tour are sitting out the Honda Classic, but there are still plenty of intriguing groupings to watch during Thursday’s opening round. One of the most intriguing features Luke Donald, Zach Johnson and Padraig Harrington.
Harrington captained the European Ryder Cup two years ago at Quail Hollow. Donald, a former World No. 1, will be his successor this year at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome. Johnson will play Donald’s foil as captain of the U.S. team, which will try to win their second-straight Ryder Cup.
While Donald and Johnson will spend a lot of time watching young players to inform their captain’s picks decisions later this year, they’re also still competitive, as is Harrington, and any three could pull off an unlikely win this week.
Donald, Johnson and Harrington will tee of for the opening round of the Honda Classic on Thursday at 12:18 p.m. ET. You can stream Thursday’s first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ or watch the action on Golf Channel.
