Previewing American Express Round 4
Sunday’s final round at PGA West is setting up to be a one-on-one match between a promising young rookie and the man playing like the best golfer in the world.
World No. 4 Jon Rahm fired a stellar seven-under 65 in Saturday’s third round to improve his total score to a whopping 23 under. It was also just enough to catch 23-year-old rookie Davis Thompson, who will head into the final round tied with Rahm and with a chance to capture his first PGA Tour victory.
Plenty of other proven champions can be found a little further back, like J.T. Poston at 19 under, Tom Kim at 18 under and Scottie Scheffler, who is six back at 17 under.
