After two rounds, the story at the Valspar Championship was Matthew NeSmith. The PGA Tour pro had set the course on fire with a Friday 61, and led by a handful of strokes heading into Saturday’s third round. But by the time dawn broke on Saturday, the story had already shifted to one Davis Riley, a 25-year-old pro and 2019 graduate of the University of Alabama. Riley leads by two heading into Sunday’s final round, looking for his first-ever PGA Tour victory.

Further back, Justin Thomas enters Sunday’s final round just three strokes back of the mark set by Riley, as does Sam Burns. Both men contended at last week’s Players Championship before fading down the stretch, and will look to rewrite the narrative for themselves on Sunday in Palm Harbor.

Golf Channel and NBC will share TV coverage of the 2022 Valspar Championship. Golf Channel will handle the early portion of Sunday’s coverage, while NBC will take over for the heart of the tournament.
