If you’re just catching wind of the big news, here’s a quick refresher: those viral Tiger Woods swing videos from the week leading up to, and the week of, the Hero World Challenge at Albany in the Bahamas, revealed that Woods has made significant gains in his recovery from his accident earlier this year. While Woods was coy about his future tournament schedule in his press conference, his impressive form on the range had tongues wagging that teeing it up at the PNC Championship might be a real possibility.
The PNC Championship showcases professionals who have won a major or the Players Championship in a 36-hole, two-player scramble format. The player’s partner must be a non-Tour card-holding family member.
The Woods duo of Tiger and son Charlie memorably made their tournament debut last year and tied for seventh, and are set to break the internet once again with their participation this year. Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, are the defending champs, having claimed a three-shot victory over Team Singh in 2020.
