John Daly tweets that he’s being treated for sepsis after suffering spider bite
John Daly recently was told The R&A was declining his request to use a cart at the Open Championship, but his week got even worse.
The two-time major champion tweeted on Sunday that he’s being treated for sepsis after incurring a spider bite while away on a family vacation in England.
“My life chapter 84k: Craziest event! Was in England last wk & incurred a spider bite, not really knowing it,” Daly tweeted. “Fast forward to Friday, mouth/mouth, compressions & unknowingly now in an ambulance rushed to ER all while on family vacation & straight into surgery! Removing what developed into a major infection in my abdominal area & treated for early sepsis all from a brown recluse! Who knows how long this will set Daly back, but the 53-year-old could be in danger of missing the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland next week.
