Next up on The Scoop: (two-time) U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau!

The 30-year-old LIV Golf pro requested double-chocolate ice cream for our chat — a great flavor choice if I do say myself, although I forgot to pick up chocolate chips to add to our dessert, which DeChambeau says is his go-to topping.

It’s been fun getting to know my guests’ favorite ice cream flavors over the last year or so, and DeChambeau’s pick definitely did not disappoint.

I’ve always had positive experiences chatting with DeChambeau, and this interview was no different. He was extremely generous with his time and kind to the whole GOLF team. I had forgotten how funny he can be, and it definitely came through a few times during our chat. His joke about “always yelling fore” made me laugh and showed that he’s not afraid to poke fun at himself. (For those of you who don’t know, DeChambeau received some criticism a few years ago when people said he didn’t yell “fore” after a wayward drive.)

When I think of DeChambeau, I often think of his post-round press conference after he won the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot, where he said he planned to celebrate his victory with chocolate milk.

In our chat, I asked DeChambeau how he really celebrated that win (this interview was recorded before he won at Pinehurst No. 2 on Sunday) and his biggest takeaways from that first major title.

DeChambeau just took home his second major title, but it’s what he is doing off the course that is garnering a lot of attention. From his massive YouTube following to allowing fans to touch the trophy after his Pinehurst victory, Bryson is doing his part to grow the game.

But how did he get here? We covered that — and a whole lot more — in this episode of The Scoop, so make sure to check it out on our YouTube Channel now. I think you’ll enjoy it!
