If you’re a parent with young kids in sports, chances are you own a wagon — or a similar contraption that is capable of carrying the outrageous amount of equipment you seem to need in order to do anything outside of the house, like attend a practice or a game. Here in Arizona, necessary accessories include chairs, heavy insulated water bottles, blankets and more.
Anyone who has ever carried multiple chairs at once knows it’s a specific form of torture. While the wagon helps enormously on that front, it can’t go everywhere. That’s why I was intrigued by CLIQ’s ClassiQ chair — a collapsible seat strong enough to hold up to 300 lbs. but compact enough to fold up into the size of a water bottle. The idea of holding a chair using only one hand was simply too tempting. I had to try it for myself.
The CLIQ ClassiQ Chair is a tidy 13.5 inches when folded, and expands to 26-inches tall. The fabric is waterproof and tear-proof ripstop ballistic nylon, and the legs are made of aircraft-grade aluminum, with rubber tips on each leg for stability.
Set-up is extremely simple. Once you unwrap the Velcro strap around the legs, you push them down until you hear them click into place. The chair legs will be sturdy, and all you have to do is adjust the back supports. There are four spring snap buttons on the lower part of the back supports to click, and then two additional buttons that click into place once you extend the higher part of the back support. Once they’re all locked in, voila! The chair is assembled, and you’re ready to relax.
Disassembly is just as easy — you just work in reverse, pushing the upper support buttons down, followed by the lower. To collapse the legs, you can press the push button on the center “MagiQ hub” in the middle. Then, you can wrap up the legs with the Velcro strap and go on your way.
The chair is just over 3.5 lbs, so it feels no heavier than a typical insulated water bottle. The freedom and ease of movement with this chair is the best selling point of all. I’ve used it at soccer practices, swim meets and on the range at the golf course. In fact, as a golf-spectating seat, it’s ideal — the easy portability makes it an awesome accessory for any event that requires location changes.
In short, I’ve been thrilled to make the CLIQ ClassiQ Chair a part of my sports-watching arsenal over the last several weeks. Interested in trying one out for yourself? Click on the link above to shop CLIQ’s range of products now.
