Two-time major champion Collin Morikawa joined me for a scoop of strawberry cheesecake ice cream ahead of his second appearance in the Olympic Games. We met up at the Travelers Championship, and while I hadn’t spent much time with Morikawa ahead of this interview, he quickly became one of my favorite personalities in golf during our conversation. He was kind, funny, enthusiastic and willing to open up — everything I could ask for from a Scoop guest!

Morikawa and I discussed how he met his wife, Katherine, what he’s most looking forward to at the Olympics in Paris, how “Call of Duty” helped him win the 2021 Open Championship, getting stopped by customs thanks to the Claret Jug and a whole lot more.

Shout out to Morikawa for being so laid back and for giving us some time during a busy week at the Travelers Championship. This may have been the hottest day in Scoop history — it was 90-something degrees and extremely humid while we chatted, but that didn’t keep us from having a great conversation.
