For ClubTest 2021, we tested and reviewed 18 wedges to help you find the right one for your game. (For more on our testing process, click here.) Below are the results for the Ping Glide 3.0 wedge. You can find the full list of wedges and test results here.

Ping Glide 3.0

Eye2 grind: 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
Standard: 46°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
Wide sole: 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
Thin sole: 58°, 60°

Our take: It’s a harsh reality: Most golfers miss more greens than they hit. To deal with the consequences of all those wayward approaches, golfers are constantly on the lookout for more spin. Ping’s Glide 3.0 wedges, with machine-milled grooves and redesigned cavities, delivered it in spades throughout our testing process. Said one tester, “I expect to lose some zip on the ball from thick lies, but it came off hot and spinning.”

Ping Glide 3.0

The Glide 3.0 SS wedges by Ping are constructed with deep, sharp grooves for higher spin and a lighter overall system weight for improved feel and control. These tour proven wedges deliver shot-saving performance across multiple loft and sole grind options. Also with a higher MIO head, shots will contain added accuracy and an elastomer insert that will deliver a soft impact experience.

The details: Ping completely overhauled its previous wedges to craft the new Glide 3.0 versions, which are made to spin more, feel softer and forgive like never before. They feature milled grooves with razor-sharp edges. Larger CTP (Custom Tuning Port) inserts behind the head deliver the softness; credit the back cavities for the extra spin and Tour-like lower shot trajectory. The Glide 3.0 lineup has a number of head options for different players, but the return of Ping’s classic Eye2 shape is certainly the most nostalgic.
