A massive unmarked box recently arrived at my doorstep, which my wife grabbed and brought into the house. “Did you get an empty package?” she asked.
Now that’s how you know it’s a promising golf bag — the box is so light you aren’t even sure there’s anything in it. But inside was the recently released Sun Mountain Eclipse E-3.5 Stand Bag, which came out earlier this month. It’s just 4.85 pounds (hence the lightweight packaging) and one of the sharpest golf bags I’ve seen in a while.
The new Eclipse E-3.5 comes in eight colors — I’m partial to the black or navy options — with a subtle and pleasing design that would be attractive to any golfer. It’s the brand’s modern twist on their original model, and it has 11 pockets and all the handy compartments you need.
But there’s also more than one quality golf bag on the market these days. So I picked a few more of my favorites (and asked a couple of co-workers to offer theirs) and came up with five of our (current) go-to golf bags, all of which are lightweight, stylish and won’t break your bank account.
Check out the five picks below, which includes golf bags from Sun Mountain, Sunday Golf, Jones and Ping. You can shop for more golf bags at Fairway Jockey.
