Perusing the range at LIV Golf is a gearhead’s dream, and there’s a pretty unique reason why.
This week marks LIV’s return to U.S. soil with the LIV Golf Miami event and GOLF’s Johnny Wunder has been on the ground at Trump National Doral, taking in all the sights from the driving range.
And that includes a few unique gear finds you won’t likely see anywhere else.
On this week’s episode of GOLF’s Fully Equipped, co-hosts Kris McCormack and Wadeh Maroun pointed out the reason there’s so much unique gear on LIV Golf and, unsurprisingly, it has to do with money.
“LIV doesn’t have the big equipment contracts that the PGA Tour does. So the stuff that he is finding in bags is just cool,” McCormack said. “So they can play what they want, when they want, where they want, and they don’t really have to answer to anybody.”
What piqued both Maroun and McCormack’s interest was seeing Bryson DeChambeau’s bag. DeChambeau was a Cobra Golf staffer when he left the PGA Tour for LIV in 2022 but has since become a gear free agent, with his bag comprising of brands like LA GOLF, Avoda and Krank.

Wunder got pictures of the Avoda 3D-printed irons DeChambeau famously put in play just before the Masters last year and won the U.S. Open with, as well as the prototype LA Golf irons he’s testing. DeChambeau was also testing the recently launched LA Golf driver.
“Even [Wunder] said, when we were texting about it, is like, they’re even better in real life,” Maroun said of the irons.
The LA Golf driver features a unique design with different faces, each with a different bulge and roll design optimized for swing speed.
The LA Golf irons appear to feature a similar bulge and roll design.
“Looking at the pictures, I would say that there is a healthy amount,” McCormack said. “I’m anxiously awaiting the opportunity to hit these things. Yeah. I need to call somebody.”
