Tour players are a different breed of golfer, and they often need clubs that are built slightly differently to cater to their needs. Since they deliver the club at high speeds and have discerning eyes, some Tour players prefer low-spinning heads that sit slightly open at address.
Tour Edge’s new Exotics Pro 721 metalwoods are designed to fit the eyes and needs of Tour players, and now they’re becoming available for consumers, too. These “straight from the Tour van” designs, as Tour Edge calls them, will hit retail on August 13 in a small-batch release of only 1000 products for each club head (driver, fairway wood and hybrid).
“We’ve become the leader in low spin technology and Pro 721 is taking that to a new level,” said Tour Edge founder and Master Club Designer David Glod. “These designs lead to penetrating shots with an extremely tight dispersion that maxes out distance, while still offering healthy launch angles.”
To achieve the desired low-spin trajectories, the Pro 721 club heads are compact and built with deep faces.
The Pro 721 driver, according to Tour Edge, is a 440cc head that offers 400 rpm lower spin than the company’s Exotics C721 model. Like the company’s previous C721 head, though, the Pro 721 also has a “Ridgeback” support system built into the crown with carbon sections on the heel and toe. This helps Tour Edge achieve more of a low-and-forward CG (center of gravity) that helps keep spin down.
They also have Diamond Face 2.0 technology on their faces, which means there are variable thicknesses behind the surface to help create faster speeds on mishits. The faces are built from Beta-Titanium, a high strength Japanese metal, and the bodies are made from 8-1-1 Titanium. To improve acoustics, there are also “sound diffusion panels” built inside the club heads.
To help dial in ball flight and feel, the drivers have a Flight Tuning System by way of adjustable heel-and-toe weights, and there’s an adjustable hosel to shift loft by +/- 2 degrees.
Stock shaft offerings in the Pro 721 driver (9.5 and 10.5 degree options) include the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue, Orange or White models, as well as a number of other custom options. The Pro 721 drivers will sell for $449.99 each.
Like the Pro 721 driver, the Pro 721 fairway wood has a Ridgeback crown, Diamond Face 2.0 technology, and is made for low spin with a compact and deep-faced head.
“This fairway wood brings us back to the glory days of the original Exotics CB fairway woods and the spin-killers we had with CBX and CBX 119,” said Glod in a press release. “This is a compact, deep faced beast that will stay down, stay straight and go a country mile for faster swingers. Get ready for this mini-driver to be outpacing some of the drivers in today’s market.”
The 155 cc head has a hyper-steel cup face and a 450 stainless steel body, and it’s offered in three different lofts: 13.5, 15 and 16.5 degrees. It also has adjustable weight ports in the heel and toe for fine-tuning trajectory, and the fairways come stock with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw shaft options.

Tour Edge’s Pro 721 hybrid is designed to be a long-iron replacement with a tour-inspired shape. That means it’s a bit more compact than some other hybrids on the market you may be used to, which is what better players often prefer.
The hybrids have a Hyper-Steel face construction, a 450 stainless-steel body, and they have adjustable weight ports to effect trajectory bias. They come stock with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw shaft options, and they’re available in four different lofts (17, 18, 19 and 20 degrees). Tour Edge’s Exotics Pro 721 hybrids will sell for $249.99 each.
