Earlier this week, two unreleased TaylorMade Stealth drivers (“Stealth” and “Stealth Plus+”) popped up on the USGA Conforming List. With Tiger Woods playing in the PNC Championship, we speculated that he might use the driver in the event.
As it turns out, Woods did make the switch into a TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver, which features an eye-catching red face and adjustable sole weighting. On the USGA Conforming List, the driver is listed as having a “60X CARBON, TWIST FACE,” and it can be seen with “Carbonwood” written on the sole. Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the new driver so far.
Woods used the driver in the pro-am on Friday, and we anticipate he’ll continue to have it in the bag through the weekend.
That wasn’t the only new club in the bag, though. Woods was also spotted with a TaylorMade Stealth Plus 3-wood, and he’s using a new Bridgestone Tour B XS prototype golf ball.
Check out the full details below on what Woods has in the bag this week (it appears Woods is testing three woods, as he has a TaylorMade SIM and a TaylorMade Stealth Plus 3-wood in the bag).
Wedges: TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 (56 and 60 degrees; True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts)
Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS
Golf ball: Bridgestone Tour B XS
