While it was much closer Sunday than anyone expected, Europe won the Ryder Cup, holding off the Americans by thwarting a huge Sunday charge for the 15-13 win.
Four players separated themselves for the Europeans by winning three points or more: Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm. All four of those players also went 2-0 in foursomes play, with McIlroy pairing with Fleetwood and Rahm and Hatton forming a dynamic duo.
While the golf ball is always a story at the Ryder Cup, thanks to the unique foursomes/alternate shot format used for two sessions this week, each of these players had their key clubs throughout the week.
Fleetwood led all players with more than 5.6 shots gained on approach with his TaylorMade irons, while Rahm picked up nearly 3.5 strokes around the greens with his Callaway wedges.
For McIlroy, his TaylorMade driver is always one of the greatest weapons in the game and longtime veteran Justin Rose was actually Europe’s second-best player after Fleetwood, according to DataGolf, in part thanks to his 3.25 strokes picked up with his Scotty Cameron putter.
Keep reading below for a breakdown of every golf ball played by Team Europe this week and detailed specs of some of their key clubs that helped them to win their second straight Ryder Cup.
