TaylorMade Phenom Junior Golf Clubs

May 13, 2016

Back in January, TaylorMade announced a 10-year partnership with the American Junior Golf Association. Now the company ramps up its efforts by unveiling the Phenom, the first junior-specific line since Burner Junior six years ago.

The new gear comes in two configurations: the 6-piece K40, for ages 5 to 8 (hands measure 18″ to 22″ from fingertips to floor), includes a 400 cc titanium driver (16°), rescue (30°), 7-iron, SW, a face-balanced mallet putter, and golf bag; the 8-piece K50, for ages 9 to 12 (or 23” to 30” fingertips to floor), has the aforementioned five clubs and bag, plus a 9-iron and low-CG stainless steel fairway wood (24°).

These irons and wedges have added weight down low to help shots get airborne easily. All the sticks (minus the putter) feature lightweight graphite shafts, smaller grips, and fast, thin clubfaces to encourage proper mechanics while delivering max distance.

As a generous touch, TaylorMade will donate $20 from each sale to the PGA Junior League Golf, a youth initiative of the PGA of America’s charitable arm. K40: $250; K50: $300; at retail May 15.
