If you’re looking for a driver alternative that’s a little easier to swing and still plenty long, you’re in luck.
Following the success of last year’s SLDR S Mini driver, this week TaylorMade has introduced the new AeroBurner Mini, which features a 43.5” shaft, a 253cc clubhead and a little more loft than a traditional driver.
To create more clubhead speed and distance the AeroBurner Mini is built with a new aerodynamic shape with a raised area in the center of the crown as well as a fin on the hosel that allows the club to move through the air more quickly.
Other features include a new matte white finish, a larger effective hitting area than the past Mini, and an AeroBurner alignment aid on the crown.
The original Mini driver was a great idea and the new AeroBurner version is a clear improvement. Anyone who struggles with their driver or tends to hit their 3-wood significantly better than their driver should seriously consider giving this thing a try.
The new AeroBurner Mini is available a standard model for $279, and a TP version ($349) that has a slightly more open face angle and a flatter lie angle.
A number of aftermarket shafts and grips are also available for those who like customized performance. The new driver is available in 12, 14, and 16-degree loft for the standard model, and 12 and 14-degree loft for the TP. Both can be purchased with TM Matrix Speed RUL-Z 60, Matrix Ozik White Tie 70X4, or Matrix Speed RUL-Z 45 shafts.
