Brooks Koepka, Bo Jackson rock custom Nike golf shoes you need to see at BMW Pro-Am

August 15, 2019

Brooks Koepka teamed-up with legendary baseball and football player Bo Jackson on Wednesday for the BMW Championship Pro-Am. The two stars had an illuminating conversation about pro sports, but it was the custom Nike golf shoes each player wore that grabbed the most attention Wednesday at Medinah.

Jackson, who famously is the only athlete in history to be named an All-Star in both baseball and football, rocked a one-of-a-kind pair of golf shoes from Nomad Customs. The silver-and-black colorway (perhaps inspired by Jackson’s old NFL team, the Los Angeles Raiders) is topped off with his iconic tagline, “BO KNOWS,” stitched on the heels.

Wanting to impress the former Heisman Trophy winner, Koepka brought along his own set of custom Nikes. Koepka’s kicks feature his own version of Jackson’s tagline, made famous by the Nike advertising campaign. Each shoe has “BROOKS KNOWS” splashed across the top.

“I was so excited just to come here and wear these in front of him,” Koepka said when asked about his shoes.

Jackson seems to have enjoyed them. “I love his shoes,” he said admiringly.

A clearly excited Koepka spent much of the round peppering Jackson with questions, a sampling of which you can watch below.

Among the most interesting questions Koepka asked was whether Jackson thought someone could pull off his dual-sport feat in the modern age, to which Jackson responded in the negative, while flashing some of his trademark confidence.

“No,” Jackson begins, “but see back when I did it, the talent pool wasn’t that deep, not trying to take anything from those players that were there, but I knew that I could do both.”

No word on if either Bo or Brooks’ shoes will be made available for anyone to purchase, but it’s unlikely. You can always get your own customized pair of shoes on nike.com.
