Perhaps no putter on the PGA Tour is hotter right now than TaylorMade’s Spider family, and it just racked up another win.

Scottie Scheffler was dialed from tee-to-green last week at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, finishing first for the event in no fewer than 12 statistical categories, but the important ones to look at are 3-putt avoidance (0, he didn’t have any), putting average (1.52) and putting from 3-6 feet (56/56).

  1. This is a test
  2. This is also test
  3. And yes, this, too, is a test

With his Spider Tour X L-neck, Scheffler picked up more than six shots on the field on the greens, sixth in the field, and a huge leap from where he was just over a year ago, where he was often losing strokes on the greens.

The Spider was the winningest putter on the PGA Tour last season, and it’s already picked up seven more victories this season, including Scheffler’s win last week at the Nelson. The victory was Scheffler’s 10th worldwide since switching to the mallet early last season.

TaylorMade 2025 Spider Tour X Black L-Neck Custom Putter

TaylorMade 2025 Spider Tour X Black L-Neck Custom Putter

SPIDER TOUR X L-NECK For nearly two decades Spider putters have been delivering championship-winning stability and performance to professionals and amateurs alike. Scottie Scheffler recently joined this group by stepping into the winner’s circle for the third time in four starts with a Spider Tour X L-Neck in the bag. TRUE PATH™ ALIGNMENT Navigate the greens with clarity with the optically-engineered True Path™ Alignment system. This legacy tech from TaylorMade helps you better visualize the line to the hole while also making it easier to aim the putter towards your target. WHITE TPU PURE ROLL™ INSERT Experience a softer feel with our White TPU Pure Roll™ insert. Crafted from a blend of Surlyn and aluminum, it features grooves angled at 45° for optimal forward roll and better overall roll characteristics. PRECISION WEIGHTING AND DESIGN A thin wall undercut and steel wireframe allow for precision CG placement, creating a superstructure with enhanced stability and forgiveness.

While those win totals are padded by the world’s top-ranked (Scheffler) and second-ranked (Rory McIlroy) golfers both gaming a Spider putter, that also says more about how the game’s best trust it in competition.

If the game’s best players are using the TaylorMade Spider mallet, then what are you doing still trying to justify why a blade putter with a sweetspot the size of an ant is still in your bag?

When Scheffler was going through his putting woes in 2023 and early 2024, he was trying several blade options and even mallets that played more like blades. Ultimately, he settled on a fairly standard Spider Tour X L-Neck putter that can be bought at any retailer, including Fairway Jockey.

Click the links above to try one for yourself, and Scheffler’s gamer specs are below.

Scottie Scheffler’s Spider Tour X specs:

Hosel: L-Neck
Length: 35.5″
Sight Line: True Path with Full Line
Lie: 72°
Grip: Golf Pride Pistol
