As with most premium businesses, quality is top of mind for Bettinardi and its president, Sam Bettinardi.
How does Bettinardi ensure the quality of his products? His office is just a few steps away from the manufacturing floor for all Bettinardi putters (the company only mills its putters at its headquarters in Tinley Park, Ill.).
On this week’s episode of GOLF’s Fully Equipped, Bettinardi, the son of company founder and CEO Bob Bettinardi, sat down with co-hosts Kris McCormack and Wadeh Maroun to talk about why the company values being not only an American assembled company, but also American manufactured.
And Bettinardi points out that having their putters manufactured in the U.S. is especially crucial now more than ever.
“It is rare. And again, with those tariffs coming, I mean, I can say we don’t manufacture everything in the States. Again, our putters are, but there’s other categories we’re starting to see the bills coming in from these suppliers that are overseas,” Bettinardi said. “And it’s like, we got to start thinking about how do we change this and look at opportunities to manufacture in Chicago, at our headquarters or around the country and have it more homegrown.”

But for the Bettinardi family, which has run the company for more than a quarter-century, being American-made isn’t just about producing quality products, it’s also about having a quality atmosphere for their workers.
“It’s 26 years of made-in-house and American employees that people that really care about their jobs and care about our name on the back of the putters that want it to be the best,” Bettinardi said.
