Scottsdale Police have arrested a 32-year-old man in the theft of a set of golf clubs belonging to Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley. Andrew Burtoni of Mesa, Ariz. is suspected of stealing the set of PXGs from the famous 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open during Wednesday’s pro-am.
The clubs disappeared Jan. 30, at which point Bradley sent out a plea for their return on Twitter. He even thought he’d discovered them for sale on the internet (the posting turned out to be fake). But after police released photos of the suspect, they received numerous tips which ultimately led to Burtoni’s arrest, according to AZ Central.
Bradley ended up making out pretty well in the deal. When news of the theft traveled to PXG headquarters, the clubmaker sent over a replacement set, balloons and all.
