Maja Stark finally has her breakthrough win on the LPGA Tour, holding off Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda to win the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills.
Stark was in full control of her game this week, but specifically her ball striking, where he gained 6.72 shots on the field on approach and hit three-quarters of her greens, good for fourth and T8 in the field, respectively.
Interestingly enough, Stark is one of the few players using an OEM-designed shaft, the Ping AWT 2.0, in her irons. Of all the major OEMs, Ping is the only one that even offers shafts, but many pros end up gaming them.

However, in her driver, Stark turns to the hottest aftermarket shaft in the game right now with the Fujikura Ventus, specifically the Blue 5-S profile. Ventus is the most popular shaft on the PGA Tour this season, winning the total counts in 24 of 25 events, and clearly that success is translating to the women’s game.
She also uses the Ping G430 MAX 10k driver, which was released last year, but it remains one of Ping’s inline drivers and is its most forgiving. The driver is still winning professional events, most recently by Ben Griffin last week.
Stark also won in her first week since switching to a new Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks 58L lob wedge. The low bounce L-Grind option was likely crucial around Erin Hills’ tightly mowed, links-style fairways, and she gained more than 1.5 strokes around the green for the week. She was also tied for third in sand saves, getting up and down three out of four times.
