Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama shot an opening round 8-under 63 to take the first-round lead at the 2024 Olympic golf competition being held at Le Golf National in Paris France. He leads current PGA and British Open champion Xander Schauffele of the United States by two shots after he shot a first-round 65, with Joaquin Niemann, Emiliano Grillo and Tom Kim tied for third at 5-under.
