Tour Edge has quickly gone from being a non-factor in the golf ball space to now having two entries in two different categories.
Coming on the heels of a massive company rebrand, including a brand new lineup of Exotics woods and irons, along with the company’s first-ever golf ball, Tour Edge is adding to the golf ball lineup with the new Hot Launch Golf Ball.
“Golfers are turning to Tour Edge in record numbers,” Tour Edge President Tim Clarke said in a statement. “This launch strengthens our full-line brand position and gives everyday golfers a new distance-performance option.”
While the earlier released Exotics golf ball is a Tour-level golf ball with a urethane cover, the new Hot Launch ball is a 2-piece, surlyn cover offering built for exceptional distance.
Thanks to a soft 55 compression and Tour Edge’s AccuSonic Core, golfers with slower swing speeds will be able to generate maximum speed and roll out with the Hot Launch Golf ball.
“Testing with both amateur golfers and extensively with our in-house robot has proven that our aerodynamic design and 55-compression core achieve the optimal performance for this player,” Tour Edge VP of Research & Development Matt Neeley said. “I’m excited for golfers everywhere to give this a shot.”
While the softer ball does mean lower spin, a shallow 312-dimple pattern promotes a high-launching trajectory, boosting carry distance and steepening land angles.
“So many golfers benefit from our game-improvement technologies in Hot Launch clubs, so we’re excited to now offer a golf ball solution built on that same philosophy,” David Glod, CEO and Founder of Tour Edge, said. “Just like the clubs, the Hot Launch golf ball is designed to help players hit it farther, launch it higher, and stay in play more often.”
My Take: Tour Edge is providing excellent value in golf balls, too
Tour Edge has always been one of the game’s best secrets for value, making excellent golf clubs, especially for slower and beginner players, at price points competing with the big OEM’s previous generation models.
Now it’s throwing some of that weight in the golf ball space.
The new Hot Launch golf ball is something that’s very Tour Edge, especially at just $20. There aren’t many other golf balls that will perform the same way at that price point.
For a slower golfer looking for a “Fountain of Youth” ball that will help them keep up — and maybe even pass younger golfers — the Hot Launch golf ball will be a great option.
