Puma goes old-school with two new retro golf shoe models

September 8, 2019

Puma, a company with some of the most high-tech golf shoe designs in golf, went old-school with a pair of new shoes that are retro classics.

Sporting the iconic profile found in Puma’s 1968 Suede Classics, the Suede G Patch ($120) comes with a hook-and-loop stripe that enables you to customize your golf shoes with any combination of six patches (included with the shoes).

The Hidden Traction outsole looks nothing like any other golf shoe outsole that we’ve ever seen—it features a waffle-like pattern that provides exceptional traction in a low-profile, practically invisible design. These unisex golf shoes also come with PRO-FIT insoles and are available in Bridal Rose, Puma Black and Quarry (gray).

For those who prefer old-school sensibilities, Puma also offers the Original G ($100), which emulates the classic Clyde and Basket hoop shoes from the 1970s and ’80s.

Complete with a premium Atlantis leather upper, PRO-FIT insoles and the same Hidden Traction outsole as the Suede G Patch, the Original Gs are undeniably cool while also providing legit, high-tech performance. (Plus, you’ll be ready in case you suddenly need to take someone to the hole!) These kicks come in blue, white or black, and they’re sure to make you look fly both on and off the links.

It’s all in the details…

The Suede G Patch comes with six patches that you can use to personalize your kicks. Options include a stylized golf ball, an actual Puma, and the brand’s iconic “P” Along with three patches not pictured: the Suede G logo, an old-school Puma logo, and the Puma stripe.
