This is I Tried It, a new GOLF.com series where we write about golf items — apparel, gear, accessories, etc. — that we’ve recently taken out for a spin. We’re here to give our honest, no-frills takes on the latest and greatest golf or golf-adjacent items. So, scroll down to read about what we love (or don’t) about golf’s newest (or new to us) products.
When you think of Wilson, you probably think of basketballs, footballs or rackets — not apparel. That’s because the sporting goods brand only debuted their apparel line as recently as 2021. In doing so, they’ve really leaned into their heritage — producing a lifestyle apparel line targeted towards golfers and tennis players that’s retro in aesthetic and modern in functionality.
I first became aware of the line through a targeted ad (as i previously mentioned here), but had the opportunity to visit a retail store in person recently. At the behest of the nice sales associate, I tried on their Lemont Pant despite its lacking hanger appeal. I was immediately surprised by how well they fit given how they looked on the rack. They’re not too tight, but not too baggy. They have plenty of pockets (that are actually large). The fabric is thick, stretchy and water repellant. You can immediately tell they will hold up over time.
In short (and I don’t say this lightly), these are now the go-to golf pants I’ll be wearing time and time again until the weather breaks 75 degrees.
