Justin Thomas’ stylish and practical hoodie caught our eye at the Genesis Invitational
Welcome to a new column, Obsession of the Week, where we highlight one thing that caught our eye in golf over the weekend. Whether it’s Tiger’s shoes, Lexi’s headcover or a limited-edition Masters item, we’ll walk you through what it is and where you can get it. This week, Justin Thomas’ cashmere RLX Golf stole the show even though he didn’t make the cut.
Everything about the Genesis Invitational was elevated this year — the tournament’s status, the field, the purse, the play, and the style. There were also plenty of Kobe Bryant tributes as the Tour swung through Los Angeles, including Justin Thomas’ golf shoes from Nomad Customs.
While Thomas didn’t make the cut, his style certainly did. And those custom kicks weren’t the only thing that caught our eye this week.
Thomas, who is sponsored by Ralph Lauren and has his own collection of clothing with the brand, sported a navy cashmere hoodie during Friday’s second round of the Genesis Invitational.
A hoodie?! On a golf course as iconic as Riviera? Yes.
This isn’t the first time Thomas has worn a hoodie during a tournament round. He actually won the CJ Cup in 2019 while wearing a black version of this as well.

The best part about Thomas wearing a hoodie is that it’s so relatable. Who doesn’t wish that the dress codes around country clubs were a little looser, especially on a chilly morning when a hoodie is really the best option?
The Ralph Lauren iteration of the humble hoodie elevates it’s status since it’s made from cashmere and has a sweater-like look, making it more of a “swoodie” than a hoodie. The ribbed knit cuffs and hem add a nice detail and help keep the sleeves in place as you swing.
