Normally, when you dress up for Halloween as your old high school/college summer job, that would be considered pretty lazy, but this year it was pretty epic.
I’ve been lax for Halloween over the years, often going as characters that don’t require much effort in a costume and usually do require an explanation: James Bond, a pedestrian, a generic PGA Tour golfer, etc.
But this year, I decided to go as a caddie, and I didn’t just go find my old caddie bib from my summers in college and high school, which hasn’t been washed in almost a decade. This year, I went all out and wore full coveralls just like the caddies at Augusta National with a Custom Caddie Uniform.

Fairway Jockey offers the Caddie Uniform in a number of sizes for both kids and adults alike and mine made for one of the best Halloween costumes I’ve had in years.
Because it’s customizable, I was able to put my own name on the back of it, which made for a fun photo op with my fiancé, who went as the golfer I was looping for. You can also have a custom number and logo on the chest.
The sizing was pretty easy to get right. I’m 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds and Caddie Uniform has a helpful chart to identify your size without having to try anything on. I went with the 44 long size and found it to be just right. The pant legs were a touch long for me, but who hasn’t seen a caddie with coveralls roll up the pant legs a little, especially on a hot day. It makes it more authentic.
Caddie Uniform completes the ensemble with loads of accessories, including different hats, but I’m lucky enough my dad snagged me an Augusta National Golf Club hat from Berckman’s Place a few years ago, and it completely pulled everything together.
Now my Trick-of-Treating days are long behind me, but I got to wear it to pass out candy while kids were coming around the neighborhood. At first, most of the responses came from dads who instantly recognized the costume. One even asked me where I got it.
But the best response came from a group of roughly 10-11-year-old boys who came by toward the end of the night.
“Are you a caddie IRL?” he asked me, short for in real life. “Who do you caddie for?”
I appreciate his assumption that I would actually dress in my profession for Halloween, because I used to be a caddie!
What am I doing with my Caddie Uniform now?
Now that Halloween is over, you might think my caddie uniform is going back in the closet for a year.
I actually can think of a bunch of times to wear it other than Halloween. For starters, if I ever end up not in Augusta during the Masters, likely during the weekend when my gear obligations are over, my caddie uniform would be the perfect thing to wear to a Masters party.
But I think the best use will be if I need a caddie in a tournament, especially a club tournament where things might be a little more laid back, having them wear my caddie uniform with my name on it would make quite the statement!
Regardless, it’s a super cool thing to have for the rest of the year, and during Halloween, I don’t have to worry about lacking effort with my costume.
