Feedback from Justin Thomas, other staffers led to the creation of Titleist’s new tour bag
Justin Thomas is used to offering up feedback when it comes to new Titleist products — but they’re usually of the club variety. Thomas played a key role during the development of the equipment manufacturer’s T-Series and 620 Series and TS metalwoods.
He also played a part in the creation of another product that recently launched on Tour: the new tour bag. The staff bag, which recently debuted at the Northern Trust Open, was a collaboration between Titleist designers and staffers — along with their caddies — who wanted to give the product a new look while also highlighting the forthcoming 2020 Jet Black collection that will include stand bags, cart bags, leather headcovers and umbrellas.
“I’m absolutely pumped for the new tour bag,” said Thomas. “We’ve been asking for a fresh, new look and the designers came through big. I love the blacked-out design with the red zippers – and that white Titleist script just pops. You can tell they’ve taken our feedback and thought about every little detail. It’s really slick.”
The nearly blacked-out bag is highlighted by velour top cuff materials, high-end ball pocket panels and quilted hip pads designed to give it a fresh look. The five-way top cuff offers integrated handles while the magnetic valuables pouch is velour-lined to keep items secure. The apparel pockets also have interior organization to keep items in order.
Titleist’s tour bag will be available Sept. 1 and retails for $550.
