I never really thought I’d become a “speaker guy” out on the golf course. It wasn’t that I was totally against other folks who used them, I’m just a bit more old school when I play, typically trying to channel my inner Tiger Woods by focusing as if I’m playing in a major tourney.
Then a coworker suggested that I at least give one a try, recommending the Rokform G-ROK wireless speaker — which I haven’t stopped using since I got it.
Rokform G-ROK Wireless Golf Speaker
Like many of you, I’ve started playing lots and lots of golf lately. Part of that is because of the nicer weather finally making its way to Seattle where I live. Another reason is my quest to break 80 for the first time by summer’s end — so the clock is ticking!
On those days when I feel tight and tired and worn out, that’s when the Rokform G-ROK wireless speaker really makes a difference for me.
For instance, just last week, I played a solo nine holes at a course I had never played before. So I made the 50-minute trek out there on a beautiful afternoon — forgoing a day on the water with my friends in exchange for some golf. Naturally, I needed a little pick-me-up.
Despite my best attempts to manage the course, there were a lot of times when I was shooting blind out there. That caused some anxiety and tension, which made me lose my focus (as well as a few golf balls), and not necessarily have the best round.
But I had the G-ROK wireless speaker with me, so I fired it up on the third hole once I realized it wasn’t going to be my day to go low on the scorecard.
Sure, I was still mad at myself for the ugly display of golf — especially off the tee with my driver — but the smooth sounds of Morgan Wallen from the G-ROK wireless speaker helped calm me down. It actually made me just sort of relax and not put so much pressure on myself.
Plus, you can score one for 20% OFF by using the code ‘SUBPAR’ at checkout! So it might be time to add this accessory to your next round.
While I’ve used the G-ROK during the last few rounds I’ve played, it’s really made a big difference during practice at the range.
Given all the usual chatter and noise at the driving range, lots of people toss in some headphones to drown it out. But I like to fight fire with fire, so I’ve just used my G-ROK in my practice stall instead — because who the heck wants to deal with AirPods falling out as you’re in the middle of your backswing?
Surprisingly, most people near me actually ask if I can turn the sound up, which helps other players sort of treat the range for what it should be — a social gathering with some tunes, conversation, a few beers and some golf swing improvement.
The G-ROK wireless speaker is dynamic in so many ways.
Since it easily connects to your phone’s Bluetooth and has a 30-foot range, you can use it pretty much anywhere. Whether that’s on the golf course or at the driving range like me, or when you’re floating a river this summer catching some rays, the waterproof exterior provides plenty of versatility.
On a full charge, the G-ROK also has 24-hour battery life, so as long as you charge it before a round, you never have to worry about it dying on you while you’re playing 18. It also has a powerful magnet to help it stick (and stay) on a golf cart with ease. That helps give me peace of mind that it’s not going to fall off — especially if I’m required to drive over a bridge to get to a hole.
Before the Rokform G-ROK wireless speaker, I never really wanted to play music during a round of golf or on the driving range. But since I started using it, it’s helped make my rounds more enjoyable, allowing me to relax more and not be so tightly wound.
For that reason alone, this speaker has been beneficial to my game — so I recommend trying one out for yourself to escape the mental frustration of any bad shots.
