Asher's premium gloves are statement makers.
Asher
For the majority of my golf life, my golf glove has been a bit of an afterthought. It was always the same brand, and always the same color (white — black for rain gloves). I would swap out the old one for a new version one when the palm became slick or the holes became too numerous.
But recently, I had the chance to try something entirely new: gloves from Park City, Utah-based-brand Asher.
Asher debuted in 2009 with a mission to disrupt the boring, white-glove market with options that were not only highly functional but cool and stylish, too. The company has since expanded to include a full line of apparel and accessories, but the gloves remain a focal point, with nearly four dozen varieties available. And the fun colors aren’t the only draw — there’s plenty of impressive performance quality built in, too. Each glove is composed of single-piece, precision-cut, AAA Cabretta leather to offer premium looks, feel, and performance.
Over the last dozen or so years, I’ve become the kind of player who appreciates a fully complementary ensemble on the course, and Asher’s selection enables you to include your glove in that equation, with a shade to match just about every piece of apparel in your closet. You can even opt to make your glove the focal point of your entire outfit, with designs like Asher’s popular “DeathGrip,” which features a skeletal hand design on the front.
Other highlights in the glove line include camouflage and paint-splatter patterns, and, as mentioned above, an array of rich colors. My personal favorites include soft neutrals like Evergreen Nimbus and Evergreen Eggshell — shades of gray and beige that don’t scream for attention but subtly elevate every on-course look.
Wearing Asher’s gloves feels great. The fit is snug, the stretch is minimal, but just enough, and they weathered the rigors of my round with ease. But perhaps most importantly, I loved the look. Now that I’ve embraced color in my glove selection, there’s simply no going back. Wearing a colorful, complementary glove feels intentional — a way to convey a certain thoughtfulness about how you want to present yourself on a given day. And if you subscribe to the “look-good-feel-good-play-good” performance mantra, then Asher gloves are a no-brainer.
In even better news: For a limited time, Asher gloves are buy-two-get-one-free at Fairway Jockey, so there’s no better time than the present to load up your cart. Check out a selection of favorites below.
