Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero driver review, photos and video: ClubTest 2020

Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero driver

For ClubTest 2020, we tested and reviewed 28 new drivers to help you find the right one for your game. Below are the results for the Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero driver. You can find the full list of drivers and test results here.

Price: $499
Lofts: 9 ̊, 10.5 ̊
Our take: It’s the lowest spinning Mavrik. Depending on where you position the two adjustable sole screws (two and 14 grams), you can manipulate spin up to 200 to 300 rpm. A smaller head size (450cc) and flatter lie angle should appeal to better players.
ClubTester’s take (3-hdcp): “One knock on Sub Zero models was their lack of forgiveness, but I can miss it with this one and it still goes!”
Robot’s take: Ranked near the top in carry distance at high speed.

Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero

This driver is for players who desire a low spin and high MOI driver with a slightly smaller head than the Mavrik and Mavrik MAX. It features A.I. designed Flash Face SS20 to promote fast ball speeds across a more expansive area in each model and loft. The new face architecture required FS2S titanium, which promotes optimal speed, forgiveness, and spin robustness. The slightly smaller head (450cc) features interchangable weights in the front and back to allow for launch angle and spin rate adjustments.
