Aldila

Business: Golf shaft manufacturer
Aldila, a company known for its popular line of Rogue, NV, and R.I.P. shafts has been a leading composite shaft manufacturer since 1972. The company also owns Mitsubishi Rayon shafts and does a sizable amount of composite development at its sister location in Poway—about 30 miles inland from the Carlsbad offices.
Callaway

Business: Golf equipment manufacturer
Callaway has been in the area since the early 80’s, and has inadvertently steered other manufacturers to also stake a claim in Carlsbad in the decades since then. And remember — Callaway isn’t just Callaway anymore. In its stable of brands are Odyssey, OGIO, TravisMathew and recently, TopGolf. The Ely Callaway Performance Center is not far from the office — about 10 miles north in Oceanside.
Cobra

Business: Golf equipment manufacturer
Cobra is owned by Germany-based Puma, a global sports apparel and shoe manufacturer with offices located in various regions around the U.S. Cobra Puma Golf headquarters is in Carlsbad, though — an earshot away from some of the other major equipment brands.
Fujikura Composites

Founded: 1995
Business: Golf shaft manufacturer
Makers of popular stock and aftermarket shafts including Speeder and Motore, Fujikura calls the Carlsbad area home. Note the address and how similar it is to Cobra Puma. It’s just around the corner.
Full Swing Golf

Business: Golf simulators and launch monitors
See a trend on Aston Ave.? Full Swing is also located near Cobra Puma and Fujikura, only it doesn’t make golf clubs or components. Full Swing sells high-end golf simulators/launch monitors for golfers who want high-performance golf simulation and launch monitor functionality — indoors or out.
Honma
6023 Innovation Way St 100, Carlsbad, CA 92009
Founded: 1959
Business: Golf equipment manufacturer
Honma is based in Japan and until fairly recently had its US headquarters up I-5 nearer to Los Angeles. It’s since them moved operations to golf-friendly Carlsbad and opened what’s called the Honma House — a retail store with the latest and greatest new Honma gear, a museum and a fitting studio.
Iliac Golf

Maker of beautiful golf apparel and popular headcovers made of soft, genuine leather, Iliac is rightfully based in Carlsbad because of its founder’s deep-seeded roots in Southern California. The company makes cool, comfortable apparel and headcovers with timeless aesthetics.
Linksoul

Founded by John Ashworth, the casual surfer-meets-golfer style of Linksoul continues to flourish, not only in SoCal where it’s based, but across the world. Located in Carlsbad adjacent, a.k.a. Oceanside, is the Linksoul Lab — the company’s corporate headquarters and retail store.
TaylorMade

A stalwart in the Carlsbad community, TaylorMade has recently undergone a few different ownerships as of late, but it still retains a strong footprint in the area. Titleist

Titleist isn’t based in California (The US headquarters are in Mass.), but the company has had a presence in Carlsbad for decades now. Also, a few minutes north in Oceanside is the Titleist Performance Institute. It’s one of the leading equipment fitting, fitness and practice facilities not just in Southern California, but the world.
Scotty Cameron
