Calling all Tiger Woods fans, you’ve got a new must-buy tee. Nike has released a Frank the Headcover T-shirt.
The Nike TW “Frank” is what it’s called, and fans who freaked out about the polo Woods wore during his pre-Masters press conference will have another item they can yearn to get their hands on. It’s very simple, made of cotton, but bears the one thing people love: a gigantic cartoon image of Frank.
Frank was the Paul Giamatti-voiced headcover that starred in a series of commercials hawking Nike product in the mid-2000s. Frank was brash, but he got the point across, and most importantly, Tiger listened to what he had to say.
Sadly, the Frank campaign went away after less than a dozen commercial spots. The headcover returned, albeit in a non-speaking or moving role, more than a decade later. Now, we’ve got Frank, just not the three dimensional version. You can buy your own for $35 on Nike.com, but act quickly. The only sizes left are small and medium.
The original polos that Woods sported at Augusta sold out extremely quickly, and were even resold for hundreds of dollars on eBay. If you weren’t able to get any Frank gear yet, don’t lose faith. Charlie and Sam Woods were sporting Frank hats while their dad won the Masters last month. We might find those hitting the market soon, too.
