Nike’s Jordan shoes are a tradition unlike any other, and it’s about time a Masters-theme pair was designed. On April 12, Nike will launch the Jordan XI that pays homage to Augusta National.

These kicks feature nods to the trials and turbulences the back 9 at Augusta can bring a competitor. Every inch of the Jordan XI was thought through to tell a story with its design.

A reflective plate on the bottom of the shoe represents that you need to look in the mirror when you approach amen corner. The green collar has a texture similar to snakeskin, warning golfers how quickly one can get snake bitten by the challenges Augusta presents down the stretch. On the front of the shoe is clapping hands. If a golfer makes it through successfully at the Masters, patrons will shower the winner with applause.

Moving forward, expect to see Nike expanding its Jordan collection in the golf space.

Nike’s Jordan shoes are a tradition unlike any other, and it’s about time a Masters-theme pair hit the course. Nike Golf athletes including Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, Patrick Reed and others will debut the Jordan XI golf shoe, which pays homage to Augusta National. The shoes are part of Nike’s “Snake Pack” line designed specifically for the Masters.

A reflective plate on the bottom of the shoe serves as a heads up: when you approach Amen Corner, it’s time to look in the mirror. The green collar has a texture similar to snakeskin, warning golfers how quickly one can get snakebit by the challenges Augusta presents down the stretch. On the front of the shoe, praying hands can be seen. To make it through Amen Corner, it may take good play — plus a prayer.

I need a pair of these, friends.

If Jordans aren’t your thing, there is no shortage of other Masters-inspired golf shoes that will be prominently seen at Augusta this year. Moving forward, expect to see Nike expanding its Jordan collection in the golf space. You can see more photos of the Jordans below.
