Srixon Z-Forged prototype irons surface on social media

December 29, 2018

When Srixon unveiled its Z-Series irons in August, one club was noticeably absent from the lineup: A replacement for the Z965 muscleback. But thanks to tour pro Sean Crocker, we have an idea of what could be in the pipeline.

Crocker, who currently plies his trade on the European Tour, posted video of the irons from his Instagram account on Friday. The close-up footage shows a club with similar badging to the new Z-Series irons and a redesigned musclepad that looks to have been considerably thinned out.

Based on Crocker’s “Butter” tag, and the fact they currently reside in his bag, it would appear he’s pretty happy with the sticks.

What’s less clear is when we might see the Z-Forged irons in stores. With the 2019 Z-Series lineup currently at retail — Z965 was rolled out with the complete 2018 lineup last time around — the blade remains a Tour-only offering for the moment. In other words, enjoy the photos.
