Course Overview

It’s only fitting that the first publicly accessible design by Tiger Woods’ TGR design was a project honoring local Springfield native and three-time major champion Payne Stewart, the preeminent figure in Missouri’s golfing history. Payne’s Valley is the newest addition to the eye-catching and ever-expanding Big Cedar Lodge collection. Woods and senior design consultant Beau Welling focused on playability, resulting in 100-yard wide fairways and greens accessible through one’s creativity rather than objective skill. Blufftop lookouts serve up stunning Ozark Mountains views but also vexing winds. Don’t forget to snap a picture of the island par-3 19th. Coined “The Big Rock,” the hole requires a well-struck wedge to a green framed by waterfalls and a prehistoric quarry.
