Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley has a chance to win his eighth career Tour event Sunday in Honolulu.

This is Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup year, whether he plays great golf or not. But what if he does play great golf throughout 2025? What then?

We’re encroaching on that reality early in 2025 as Bradley sits just two shots behind the lead with 18 holes to play at the Sony Open. The 38-year-old is set to captain the American Ryder Cup team in September but if he continues playing as well as he has the last 18 months, he is bound to find himself in a playing-captain role.

Bradley took it deep Saturday in Honolulu, shooting 64 with eight birdies to climb into contention. He trails J.J. Spaun by two entering the final day. A win would launch Bradley into the top 12 in the current American Ryder Cup standings, and you know what that means. Twelve players make the squad.

Bradley has repeatedly said he will only play in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black if he can automatically qualify for the team, which would require him finishing in the top 6. That’s a mighty feat, but one he is trending toward. A win would push him to no. 7 in the Official World Golf Ranking, a career high.

In addition to the Ryder Cup points, FedEx Cup points, and a potential eighth career Tour win, Bradley and the rest of field are also pursuing their share of an $8.7 million purse. Below, you can see how it all breaks down.
