Course Overview
While the front nine is defined by handsome tree-lined fairways, the star of the back nine is Lake Oconee, most strikingly at the par-4 16th, where the green juts into the water. The course, which puts a premium on control and rewards power, opened in 1992 but underwent a renovation in 2019. Although originally described as a mere update of the irrigation system and help with bunker degradation, the final product spoke to a new design philosophy. Thousands of trees were cleared, the turf was changed to accommodate the ground game and playing corridors were widened, resulting in a design known not only for its views but also for its functional strategy.
