Shorties Golf
It was only last year when Jordan Warnock, a father of 2-year-old twin boys, couldn’t find exactly what he wanted in toddler golf club sets. So he decided to make his own. Eventually, he launched Shorties Golf — and orders came flooding in.
Fast forward to the present, and these tot-sized sets are still flying off the (virtual) shelves.
Shorties specializes in golf club sets specifically for children ages 2-8, and the sets come in four different sizes depending on height (Tiny, Tot, Mini and Junior). Better yet, if you need to upgrade after one set becomes too small, Shorties has a “Club Up” program that will help you donate the current clubs to a youth in need via the Shorties Foundation, plus give you a discount on the next size up.
The clubs come in red, blue or gray, and a new pink option was also just released.
But what really makes Shorties unique is the thought that goes into the golf clubs, including the bag, down to every last detail. The bags don’t look like others you’ll find at stores near you. They are essentially full-size golf bags shrunken down to fit smaller golfers, complete with the same types of pockets and materials you’d see on adult bags. The stand bags come with a double strap and are light and easy to carry.
The Tiny model, for golfers 34-38 inches tall, comes with a driver, 7-iron and putter (including headcover and rain cover). The other three models also include a hybrid and wedge.
The youngest golfer in my household recently tested out the Mini bag in a gray color. He loves the clubs and enjoys carrying the bag around the yard (although he sometimes is more interested in storing things in the pockets). Regardless, getting kids interested in golf (or any sport) can be tricky, but a Shorties Golf bag already has him hooked.
