The PGA Championship is over, and now the PGA Tour season resumes at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial, where we’re picking a player who contended at Valhalla as our long shot. Here’s our long-shot pick, the Charles Schwab Challenge odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
Charles Schwab Challenge odds: Long-shot bet
For this week’s event at Colonial, we’re picking Taylor Moore at +6600 odds-to-win as our long shot. Here’s why.
Moore is a PGA Tour winner, having triumphed at the Valspar Championship last season. This year, he only has one top-10 finish so far, but that was a runner-up at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
And he’s shown up big at the majors in 2024. At the Masters, he earned a T20, and then last week at the PGA Championship at Valhalla, he contended for the win, eventually finishing T12.
Another solid week on the biggest stage could provide him with the momentum necessary for victory No. 2 this week.
If you bet $10 on Moore to win and he does, you’ll earn $660. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on Moore to finish top 10 and top 20.
Looking for more long-shot bets for the Charles Schwab Challenge? This week’s honorable mentions are Thomas Detry (+5000) and Billy Horschel (+5500).
Collin Morikawa, who finished T4 at the PGA Championship, comes in a distant second with +1400 odds-to-win. Max Homa (+2000) fills out the top 3 in oddsmakers’ eyes.
