The LPGA and Ladies European Tour announced Wednesday a new partnership with Nikon — and it’s one that comes with an enviable perk for players.

As part of a multi-year agreement, Nikon’s Coolshot Rangefinders will become the official rangefinders of both tours. LPGA and LET players will receive Nikon rangefinders for use during competition and practice, with the rangefinders featuring a special competition mode to comply with the Rules of Golf.

“To Nikon, this is more than a partnership — it’s a fantastic opportunity to support a diverse group of amazing and talented athletes, who can use our optics and rangefinders to take their already impressive game even further,” said Nikon Inc. president and CEO Naoki Onozato in a press release. “We can’t wait to see how these tours grow and thrive in the future, and we are proud to be a part of it.”

Rangefinders have been allowed in most LPGA and LET tournaments since 2021 as long as the slope function is disabled, but they are not permitted at the U.S. Women’s Open and AIG Women’s Open.

Nikon’s flagship rangefinder, the Coolshot ProII, features bright and sharp optics via a premium OLED display and instant distance readings. The slope function can be toggled on and off to make the device legal for use in competition. You can check out the Coolshot ProII in detail below.
