If you’re a golf-swing nerd, you’ve probably heard about the ProSENDR training aid. Developed by David Woods and GOLF Top 100 Teacher Sean Foley, this intuitive training aid provides instant feedback, helping golfers of every skill level feel the proper wrist and hand structure of the swing in real-time.
There’s a training aid for just about every swing flaw you can think of and, as a result, there are hundreds of products out there that claim they can fix your swing. Many of them can help you dial in your swing, but there are also lots that just aren’t that helpful. That’s not the case with the ProSENDR.
Don’t just take our word for it — the pros absolutely love this thing. If you’ve walked the range at any PGA Tour event recently, you’ve probably seen a handful of pros using it to dial in their swing.
One such example? Four-time major winner Rory McIlroy.
“It was probably a week before [the Memorial] that Rory shot me a text and said, ‘Hey, would you send me one?'” Woods said on this week’s episode of GOLF’s Subpar. “Of course, I just overnighted it to him, and within a couple days he sent me a little bit of feedback saying that he loved it.”
While McIlroy has had a solid 2022-2023 season, he’s also been through some slumps that prompted swing changes. Even as one of the best players in the world, he’s never been afraid of some tinkering.
In the video above, shot shortly after he received the ProSENDR, you can hear McIlroy commenting on the way the training aid helps him get his hands higher while keeping the clubhead behind him.
“It got him in a position that he was working towards that got his wrist conditions a little more extended with the right wrist, flatter with the lead wrist,” Woods said. “But yeah, he really liked it.”
Once McIlroy started using the ProSENDR, the training aid really took off.
“For it to all of the sudden blow up when there was some stuff that popped up on social media there, I think it was the Tuesday of Memorial,” Woods said. “There was just some great stuff of him describing what it was doing for him. I very quickly got on text with him and thanked him for all the help.”
When you get the stamp of approval from one of the best golfers of this generation, you know you’re doing something right.
