UPDATE: The PGA Tour announced Thursday morning that the start of the first round at the WM Phoenix Open would be delayed one hour due to “lingering frost.” The round will now begin at 10:15 a.m. ET/8:15 a.m. MT.
For the first time in 2023, golf fans will get to see World No. 1 Rory McIlroy tee it up on the PGA Tour, and he’ll do so along with the rest of the game’s best players.
In his last Tour start in October, McIlroy triumphed at the CJ Cup to reclaim the No. 1 ranking. Then just two weeks ago, McIlroy took his talents to the DP World Tour where he won the Dubai Desert Classic.
But World No. 2 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler and World No. 3 Jon Rahm, who has two Tour wins in 2023, have their sights sets on McIlroy’s top ranking.
It all gets started on Thursday, when McIlroy tees off at 9:48 a.m. ET alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Collin Morikawa. You can stream Thursday’s first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ or watch the action on Golf Channel.
